Big Brother's Voice of Reason
Our Big Brother legend is guiding us through what seems to be one of the most explosive series yet! Gracing millions of homes across the country over these past decades, he has gripped the nation as the heartbeat to one of the best loved and longest running reality shows!
With its inception on Channel 4 way back in 2000 to its new home on Channel 5, Marcus’s iconic narration has had a strong grip on the public consciousness. Marcus says ‘I'm immensely proud that I've become ingrained into British culture in such a unique way. Because of my association with Big Brother, everywhere I go I just open my mouth and people recognise my voice. I was once in a queue for a ride at Sea-world in Florida and my voice got recognised by some American BB fans!’
The voice has unwittingly taken on a life of his own in countless parodies and impersonations alike. Appearing on comedies with Ricky Gervais, being the subject of Rory Bremner impressions, a sketch with Jack Whitehouse for Comic Relief and his own game show Dirty Money on Sky One, it seems everyone wants a piece of one of the nation’s most recognisable voices. ‘Big Brother has also helped push my voice into realms that I'd never even thought of - I've opened Garden Fetes and Xmas shows, Hospital Radio Stations and even drew the half time raffle at a Premiere League Ground. I've advertised Cheese live at Asda in Dunstable and produced major campaigns for the NHS about Stopping Smoking and Diabetes Awareness’ That’s just the tip of the iceberg!
When he’s not making sense of the BB house pandemonium, he’s proved his versatility lending his tones to campaigns for British Airways, British Telecom and Birdseye, countless promos for Have I Got News for You and a modern day rerun of the Children's favourite, Bill and Ben! You can now catch Marcus navigating the nonstop drama of the Big Brother house in the 18th series! After all this time, the housemate’s antics still never fail to shock, so we thank god for Marcus – Big Brother’s ever trusty voice of reason!
