About Us
First and foremost we're a service. We've hand picked our artists to ensure that they're experienced, easy to work with and nice to their mums. We watch and listen carefully to every reel we get sent and before we take an artist onto our books, we meet them and get to know them, to make sure they think about the business in the same way that we do.
Secondly we're here to help. We take the problem of finding the right talent for the right project off your hands. If you've got a difficult client or an awkward brief, then save time by talking it through with us.
Finally we're a team. The office staff and our artists. We invest time in our talent, coaching them, sharpening their skills, adapting to the ever changing trends in the market and getting feedback from clients. We cut all our showreels in house, we produce all our own demos, and, as a result, everyone knows the high standards we work to. After all - we have a name to live up to.
Call us and find out just how friendly and efficient we can be.
Jon Briggs Owner and Founder
Jon set up Excellent in 1996 on a dining room table as a direct result of becoming one of the most recognised TV promo voices in the business. He's forty something and has been a professional voice artist, radio and TV presenter for almost 30 years. He established Excellent as an agency that was designed to be different from the rest and loves the fact that we live up to our name every year for both artists and clients alike.
Pete Gold Co-Director
Pete is the co-founder of Excellent and is an accomplished musician, writing his own songs and playing guitar. As well as being an established voice over, he's also a stand up and sketch show performer with 3 Edinburgh Fringe festivals to his credit, and has the added advantage that people think he's standing up when he's still sitting down.
Marie-Claire Walton Presenters & Speakers Agent
Marie-Claire has a comprehensive track record in TV production, working with the likes of Prince Edward and Richard Hammond and producing documentaries for Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton. After over a decade of programme making, she realised that her true passion was for casting the talent and joined Excellent where she continues to nurture relationships with talent, agents, producers, directors, writers, commissioning editors and channel controllers on a daily basis.
Frances Chance Voice Agent
Frances is a trained actress, which of course comes in handy when pretending to be polite to late-paying accounts departments on the phone. Since graduating from Rose Bruford, she has turned her talents to managing other people's talents. She has worked in personal management and actors cooperatives, so is an expert at managing people and being cooperative. She's also a very experienced caster, having worked in one of the West-End's leading casting studios. She's proactive, thorough, efficient, friendly, and great at writing her own blurb (hem hem). Her guilty pleasure is 'The Only Way is Essex' and her ideal date is Tom Hardy.
Tom Fitz Voice Agent
Tom has taken a number of roles in TV and Film production. Starting as a runner to producing independent feature films, which is where he first started working with talent. He has a passion for all things on the silver screen and an encyclopaedic film knowledge. Hes also a dedicated family man.
